ASP Data Center and Lyse partner on sustainable use of excess heat
We are happy to announce that ASP Data Center is collaborating with Lyse, a leading energy and infrastructure company in Norway, to make use of the excess heat generated at our K11 (Forus, Norway) data center. Through this partnership, heat that would otherwise go unused can be fed into Lyse’s district heating network, helping to warm nearby buildings and support more efficient energy use in the local community.
Operating a data center requires significant energy, and keeping servers cool generates heat. By working with Lyse, we can redirect this heat to a useful purpose. While the impact may be modest, we see it as a meaningful step toward more sustainable operations.
Key aspects of the collaboration include:
- District cooling from Lyse to maintain stable temperatures in the data center
- Distribution of excess heat to buildings connected to the district heating network
- A flexible approach that benefits both our operations and the community
This collaboration is an important step toward our vision of operating energy-efficient, responsible data centers that provide reliable digital infrastructure - while actively reducing environmental impact and supporting local communities.
